Founded in late 1991, the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, is an Italian research university with its main seat in Caserta and academic departments in a variety of ancient and contemporary buildings in Naples, Aversa, Capua, and Santa Maria Capua Vetere. It was formerly known as The Second University of Naples since it was established to relieve the University of Naples Federico II of its overcrowding.
