More About The University Of Padua

Founded in 1222 by a group of Bologna students and instructors, the University of Padua is Italy’s second-oldest and the world’s fifth-oldest surviving university. In 2021, according to the Censis institute, it was ranked second best university among Italian institutions of higher education with more than 40,000 students, and among the top 200 universities in the world by ARWU.

Andreas Vesalius (1514–1564), credited as the founder of modern human anatomy was a professor at the University of Padua from 1537 until 1542.
