More About The University Of Pavia
The University of Pavia, which just celebrated its 650th anniversary and is located 40 kilometers from Milan, is one of Italy’s most historically significant institutions. The Harvey course, which was the first of its kind in Italy at the time, was developed utilizing over 500 years of teaching knowledge in the science and practice of medicine. The study materials are based on the most up-to-date editions of internationally renowned English medical texts used by medical students in the UK and the US. All lectures, exams, and other activities are conducted entirely in English. The degree allows for specialization and practice both within and outside of the European Union.
The University of Pavia has educated and trained many famous historical figures:
– Albert Einstein wrote his first scientific paper in Pavia: “The Investigation of the State of Aether in Magnetic Fields”, 1895. Even when he moved away, expressed his love and nostalgia for the city: “I’ve always wondered about the lovely bridge in Pavia” – from a letter Einstein wrote, 1947.
– Leonardo da Vinci dissected human corpses in Pavia, most likely given by the San Matteo hospital, to investigate the brain ventricles, fetal muscles, and so on.
– Camillo Golgi, whose discoveries include the Golgi Apparatus in cells, the Golgi nerve staining technique, the Golgi tendon organ in the muscle, and many more, worked intensively at Pavia and earned Pavia a great deal of international recognition and notoriety as a biomedical frontier.
